Call your mom or and dad! Why should you call your parents so often? You just spoke to them a few weeks or months ago! There is nothing like a mothers love. We also love our parents tremendously. So put them on that busy weekly schedule that we get as we live our lives. It just takes a few minutes and the rewarding feeling you will have, plus the love your mom gets from the phone call will brighten the day of both of you.
The trick is to knee-jerk it. In other words as soon as the thought of making the phone comes into your head, do it then! In todays world with the convenience of cell phones, we can Google voice “call mom” in the car. So there is no excuse not to call your mother or dad on a frequent basis.

The official U.S. holiday, Mother’s Day, is celebrated on the second Sunday of May every year to honor mothers and motherhood.
The first Mother’s Day was celebrated in 1908 in Grafton, West Virginia. Anna Jarvis held a memorial service for her mother, Ann Jarvis (1864-1936), who had died from breast cancer four years earlier. Anna Jarvis chose white carnations as her symbol of mothers because they were her mother’s favorite flower.
Jarvis wanted to have a day that would honor all mothers and not just those who had lost children to death or sickness. She wanted mothers who were struggling financially to be given flowers and gifts by their children and wanted fathers to join in this celebration as well. Jarvis started a campaign to make Mother’s Day an official holiday in America so that she could spread awareness about it and encourage families across the country to celebrate this day together every year.
Anna Jarvis also wrote letters asking President Woodrow Wilson if he could declare Mother’s Day an official holiday in America but her request was denied because there was no evidence that Americans were celebrating it as a national holiday at that time!
